Christopher Elliott is an author, consumer advocate and journalist. His investigative reporting has earned him a reputation as “every consumer’s best friend.” He writes “The Travel Troubleshooter,” and published in outlets from The San Francisco Chronicle to the Boston Globe. He also writes “The Navigator,” a column for The Washington Posts travel section, the “On Travel” column for USA Today, and a weekly column for He has appeared on every major TV network, including ABC, BBC. CW and NBC. Chris has independently produced shows for NPR worked as a commentator for Public Radio’s “Marketplace,” and hosted a cable TV show and co-hosted a nationally-syndicated radio show. He has written for The New York TimesUSA Today and The Wall Street Journal, and has been a columnist for EntrepreneurNational Geographic Traveler and Fortune. His work has appeared on online news outlets, including CBS Interactive,, and His books included “Scammed” and “How to Be the World’s Smartest Traveler.”
Paul Brady is a senior editor at Condé Nast Traveler, zeroed in on strategies that help people take better trips. He has covered travel for nearly 10 years, at Condé Nast Traveler, The Huffington PostBudget Travel, and other outlets. He graduated from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.
Monica Drake is the editor of the Travel section of the New York Times, overseeing the weekly print section, the digital report and managing its digital and mobile initiatives. Before running Travel, Monica was the deputy of the section, in charge of several print features and its blog. Monica is a veteran editor at the New York Times, having served as an assistant editor for Arts & Leisure and Weekend Arts desks and as a staff editor handling breaking news on the Metro desk. In between those stints, Monica acquired a wanderlust that was only heightened after working for nearly a year in the offices of the International Herald Tribune in Paris. 
Sara Clemence is the news director at Travel + Leisure. She was formerly the travel editor at The Wall Street Journal. A journalist with extensive experience in print and digital, she has also been a business editor for the New York Post, written about weddings for Marie Claire, covered real estate for Forbes and reported on chemical weapons in Alabama. She has appeared as an expert on CNN, VH1, Good Morning America, CNBC and countless other outlets. She loves spotting stories, ginning up editorial strategies, sensing trends and helping people and ideas meet their potential.
